What is 50.FORWARD?

A community
challenge with a real result.

50.FORWARD is a community project where Mike Hind MBE starts each mission with £50. That money is used to buy something, sell it for a profit, reinvest it and keep going until the chosen charity, family or individual reaches their funding goal.

No middlemen. No admin fees. Just buying, selling, hustling and reinvesting. Every penny moves the mission forward until the target is hit and the money goes where it was always meant to go.

"Real people. Real money. Real graft. Until the target is hit."
Mike Hind MBE, Founder
The story behind it

From £50 in a garage
to a community movement.

2008Where it started

In 2008, Mike started with just £50. He was working full time as a joiner, living week to week with very little money. He bought Flossy shoes from a man in Sunderland who imported them from Spain and started selling them from car boot sales and from his garage at home.

At his first car boot sale at Redcar Racecourse, he sold out in minutes. Other stall holders could not believe it. That £50 start became the foundation of everything he has built since, including Mas Body Gym and Macro Based Diet, and the thousands of people he has helped through fitness, nutrition, business, charity work and community support.

Mike was awarded an MBE for services during Covid, but he has always said that honour belongs to everyone who showed up when it mattered.

The comeback

Over the past two years Mike and his family have been through serious stalking, harassment, online abuse, false allegations and an arson attack at the family home while his children were asleep inside. It pulled him back from a lot of the charity and community work he loved doing.

50.FORWARD is the answer to that. It is about taking something painful and turning it into purpose. Starting small, building it up, and proving in public that good people, working together, still change lives.

How it works

Seven simple steps.
One real outcome.

Every mission follows the same loop. Small start, big finish.

01
Start with £50
Every mission begins with £50 of Mike's own money. Same starting line, every time.
02
Community picks a cause
A charity, family or individual the community helps choose. Real names, real stories.
03
Buy, sell, reinvest
Car boots, charity shops, online flips, hook sets like this one. Every penny back into the pot.
04
Target hit. Cause paid. Repeat.
100% to the cause when we hit the number. Then we do it all again for the next person.

Tom, 15, sat in his powerchair at home
Tom. 15. Diehard Liverpool fan. We will not hold it against him.
Tom's story

15 years old.
Fighting every day.

Tom has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a muscle-wasting condition that gets harder each year. His mum Tracy has spent two years fundraising to make their home accessible. Tom needs his home to feel safe, not like a prison. The Geberit wash and dry toilet means he can use the bathroom on his own, with dignity, as the condition progresses.

Tracy's full £60,000 fundraise is live too. If you can give directly, please do.

Honest update . 29 June 2026

A small batch warped in the heatwave.
Here is what we are doing about it.

Real talk. The UK heatwave caught us out. A small number of sets from one early batch of PLA+ filament deformed in direct sunlight on bin lids. Our fault for not building for British weather that hits 30 degrees on a black plastic bin.

From this week every hook is printed in PETG. PETG is a tougher, heat-resistant material that softens at around 80 degrees, compared to PLA+ around 60. UV resistant, stronger, holds shape in any UK summer. Same hook design, much better material. Future-proof.

If your set has been affected, message me directly on Facebook (facebook.com/MikeHindFitness) or Instagram (@mikehind_mbe). I will replace your set in PETG, no questions, no proof needed. I am personally covering every replacement out of my own pocket. The mission pot does not pay a penny for this. Tom's money stays Tom's money.

This is the part of building something real that people do not normally get to see. Things go wrong, you own it, you fix it, you upgrade, you keep going. If you have a kid watching this who is thinking about starting something, this is the bit worth showing them. Setbacks are not failure. Setbacks are just the next problem to solve.

Onwards. Mike.
